About EQT Corporation

The EQT Corporation is an American-based integrated energy company headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. EQT supplies natural gas, crude oil and gas-related services to retail and wholesale customers throughout the United States. EQT Corporation is the largest natural gas supplier in the Appalachian Basin, operates more than 1,400 miles (2,250 km) of pipelines and provides its services to more than 270,000 customers in the southwestern parts of Pennsylvania as well as West Virginia and Kentucky. In 1884, brothers Michael and Obediah Haymaker struck gas just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and formed the Equitable Gas Company in 1888. In 1900, the company became part of George Westinghouse?s Philadelphia Company but then separated from the Philadelphia Company in 1950 and was listed on the New York Stock Exchange. In 1984 the Equitable Gas Company changed its name to Equitable Resources, Inc. Over the next two decades it acquired several companies includes NORESCO in 1997 and Appalachian wells and reserves in 2000 from Statoil Energy. The company finally changed its name to EQT Corporation in 2009 shortly after becoming part of the S&P 500. EQT Corporation opened its very first fueling station in Pittsburgh in 2011.
