About NextEra Energy Resources

NextEra Energy Resources is an American-based wholesale electricity supply company. NextEra?s corporate headquarters are located in Juno Beach, Florida and is a subsidiary of NextEra Energy, Inc. The company is on the Fortune 200 list and the S&P list. NextEra Energy Resources was known as FPL Energy before 2009 when they changed their name. NextEra is the largest owner and operator of wind and solar electricity generating assets in North America with 85 wind facilities in seventeen US states as well as three Canadian provinces. NextEra co-owns and operates the world?s largest solar power generating facility, Solar Energy Generating Systems (SEGS). NextEra Energy also owns and operates generating plants that are powered by nuclear fuel, oil and natural gas. These facilities combined capacity is 18.9 gigawatts. Ten states in the US have natural gas fired power plants that are either owned or co-owned by NextEra Energy. The largest of these power plants in the MW Forney Energy Center located in Forney, Texas, the MW Lamar Energy Center located in Paris, Texas, and the MW Calhoun Energy Center located in Eastaboga, Alabama. The second largest wind farm in the United States in called the Horse Hollow Wind Energy Center and is owned and operated by NextEra Energy; this wind farm in located in Taylor County, Texas. Approximately 25% of wind power installed in the United States in 2008 was thanks to NextEra Energy. One of NextEra?s largest investors and customers is Google Energy who has invested approximately $38.8 million in two of the sites in North Dakota and entered into a purchase agreement for 100MW at a fixed rate for the next 20 years.
